GitHub retires SHA-1 in HTTPS

An infrastructure change to check if older clients can no longer connect.

What changed

GitHub says SHA-1 is now disabled in HTTPS for github.com and partner CDNs, including GitHub Enterprise Cloud and its data residency offering.

What to know

  • GitHub Enterprise Server is unaffected, according to the announcement.
