Model inference

Groq

Groq API Free plan

Free inference within model-specific limits

Reviewed 2026-09-18 · Check current availability at the provider

No fixed award amount; organization and model rate limits apply.

  • Create a Groq account and check the limits for your model.
  • Stay on the Free tier. Upgrading to Developer enables paid usage.
  • Requests, tokens and audio each have their own limits.
How to try it
  1. Open Groq's documentation and sign in to the console.
  2. Select a supported model and inspect your organization's limits.
  3. Create an API key in your own account and make a small test request.
Why it’s in this position

Start here if you want to try hosted inference with an explicit Free tier and visible model limits. This order is not a speed or quality benchmark.

Editorial order within model inference. No payments, votes or measured popularity.

Google

Gemini Developer API Free tier

Free API usage on selected models and features

Reviewed 2026-09-18 · Check current availability at the provider

Model and project limits vary; not every model or feature has a free tier.

  • Confirm that your region and account meet Google's access requirements.
  • Select a model and feature with a free tier in the current price table.
  • Unpaid-service content may be used to improve Google products under the applicable terms; avoid confidential inputs.
How to try it
  1. Check the pricing table and supported regions.
  2. Open Google AI Studio using your own account.
  3. Inspect the project's tier and limits before making an API call.
Why it’s in this position

Another inference option. Review its region, feature and data-use conditions before choosing it; we have not benchmarked it against Groq.

Editorial order within model inference. No payments, votes or measured popularity.

Tavily

Tavily Researcher

1,000 API credits each month

Reviewed 2026-09-18 · Check current availability at the provider

A credit is a usage unit, not cash or always one request.

  • The free Researcher plan requires no credit card.
  • Basic search uses one credit; advanced search uses two. Other operations have different costs.
  • Paid plans and pay-as-you-go have separate billing rules.
How to try it
  1. Read the current credit costs for the operation you need.
  2. Create your own Tavily account on the free Researcher plan.
  3. Get an API key and check remaining credits before testing.
Why it’s in this position

The search option in this edition. Its monthly allowance is published clearly, but it serves a different purpose from the inference offers.

Editorial order within web search. No payments, votes or measured popularity.
